Hopeful Heart,
Inc. is an Arizona not-for-profit corporation, is tax exempt
under IRS 501(c)(3) (IRS #86-0830970), and was set up specifically to
give a little extra "helping hand" to musicians, writers, artists,
dancers, and others in the arts, who have had to face medical
difficulties and challenges. Hopeful Heart provides direct financial
assistance on a monthly basis to persons in the arts (most of whom are
self-employed and without health insurance) who are facing
life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, AIDS, heart attacks, strokes,
etc. We are dedicated to helping qualified recipients on a direct basis
with a minimum of bureaucracy or red tape.
Hopeful Heart, Inc. raises funds through
an annual "Concert for Life" (usually held in the summer), the sale of
recordings, generous donations from individuals, estate gifts and
bequests. We are also committed to building a reserve principal fund
through which interest can be generated to insure that our ongoing needs
are met.
In addition, after individual
recipients are provided for, Hopeful Heart may make single donations to
similar groups who also provide direct assistance to their clients.
We are very proud of the fact that most
of our help is voluntary; no board member or officer receives a salary
or compensation, and that our only expenses are for airfare, catering,
etc. for our annual concert and for miscellaneous items like printing
and postage.
