Did you ever say – “Father God, thank you for this blessing and joy. You are good.” or maybe you might say what I usually say – “I will give thanks tonight!” (that is after all the excitements subside, not instantly).
Though I meant every words i said, most of the times I never got around to do so because I was too tired by the end of the night.
Thanking God when we are blessed is not as instantaneous as we calling out for the need to celebrate. This behavior pattern may suggest the fact that our flesh is stronger than our spirit thus the instant need for gratification is stronger than the Spirit’s needs to give thanks to our ever Faithful God.
God doesn’t need us to say a long lengthy give-thanks prayer. The length doesn’t determine the level of our gratitude as we all know God sees the heart. So let’s be quick to give thanks when we receive joyful new before we call for celebration with friends and families
Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!
