Quite recently, I went on a hiking trip with my friend. From the mountaintop, we marvelled at nature's grandeur and couldn't help but feel so small among the nature's grand scale.
It makes me wonder why do are we so fixated on petty matters that are nothing compares to the power who created the big mighty mountains that are able to withstand any hail, sun, rain, snow and storm?
We get overly emotional and anxious over loss or gain, We allow arguments and criticism offend us and we often may seek ways to validate our own importance after being belittled over a period of time by people who takes us for granted.
Standing on the mountaintop helped me to shift my perspective. How small we are yet God is ever mindful of us. He loved us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31: 3) Matthew 10:30 said even the very hairs of our heads are all numbered; isn't that wonderful? The God who created the mighty mountains, concerns Himself with the number of our hairs. We have every reason to rejoice. We have every reason to have hope because Jesus loves us.

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self..., lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ...

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong
