As we are assaulted by the media's constant representation of beauty and standards, I wonder how many of us are actually influenced by the false standard the media has fed us?
Do we really buy into the common dream of wanting to live the high life, earn big dollars and have the max influence we can attain for superficial “mark of success” offered by our society and media? That is not the identity God wants us to have.
A good healthy “mark of success” is tied to the way we view ourselves. It is tied with our self-worth and self-worth shares a close relationship with our identity.
The devil knows this full well; which is why he always tries to steer your identity away from God to what is temporal. When you remember you are the beloved child of God who God so loved that He gave heaven's best for you, that you are always pleasing to HIS eyes, the devil have no choice but to flee! Jesus knows HIS identity firmly when HE was tempted by the devil in the wilderness for forty days and the devil has no power over HIM!
The truth is the devil has neither the power nor the authority to stop you, if you exert your power and authority given by Christ on this earth.
Matthew 5:13-16 Remember, you are the salt of the earth, light of the world
Matthew 6:22 But if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness
