As I obeyed the Lord to be a peace maker, my heart was spontaneously filled with such peace of God that surpasses all understanding, anger vanished and my mouth kept on praising the Lord. If I had said something out of my anger, surely we would have ended up quarrelling and it would have created a lot of unhappiness.
When the rich and foolish Nabal was having a feast day, David sent his men to greet and wish him and at the same time also asking for some food, but without considering the goodness David had shown him, he insulted and turned him down.
Abigail, being an intelligent wife of Nabal acted quickly when she heard that disaster was hanging over Nabal and his whole household. As David and his men were on their way to destroy them, she quietly took some food and many other gifts and went on her way to make peace with David.
When she saw David, she quickly humbled herself, asked for forgiveness and then handed him those gifts she had brought with her. With her diplomatic ways, she managed to calm David down. David then praised Abigail,"May you be blessed for your good judgment for keeping me from bloodshed this day...”( 1 Samuel 25 : 33 ).
Abigail managed to save her entire family from being destroyed by David and his men as the result of her effort to make peace with him.
A Place of “Peace” is a place of " Power ". Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
Matthew 5:9
