During my usual walk from the office to the train station, I usually pass by a row of prestigious, branded shops. These shops were carefully decorated in the latest minimalist or vintage or modern styles, with mannequins decked out in the latest, beautiful, extravagant clothing, sparkling accessories and posing mid-swagger. On the other hand, a crisply crease-less ironed shirt is just an elusive wish for me!
Did you know that you too are clothed with wonderful priceless clothing? Isaiah 61 says God has clothed us with garments of salvation. Salvation here has meanings of deliverance, safety, welfare, rescue and victory!
God has also on us a robe of his righteousness. Righteousness can be translated as justified, virtuous, prosperous and just being right! How amazing that we don't have to do anything to work for it, only let God put on our salvation and cover us with his righteousness!
Be reminded day by day that you are clothed and arrayed in heavenly garments!
Isaiah 61:10
I delight greatly in the Lord ; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
