Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV)
The words "delight" and "desire" are closely related in Hebrew. If you were to substitute the word "desire" for "delight" in psalm 37:4, it would say, "Desire the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." That would mean that he would give you Himself! What could be better than for God to demonstrate the fact that He is the answer and fulfilment of every desire and dream of your heart? The relationship God invites you into is a relationship of incredible richness and joy, beyond anything you've ever imagined. It is eternal life. Take some time today to thank the Lord for His incredible love and ask Him to continue to draw you into the fullness of joy He designed for you to experience in your relationship with Him.
