Expectations can be defined as hope, faith, trust or a strong belief. Almost all the time, we have expectations of people around us. Perhaps it is an expectation for Mum to make dinner, Dad to provide, our police to protect, the brother to guard our back, or for that friend to always be there in times of need.
Unfortunately, we human beings tend to be imperfect and every so often our expectations may be let down, or conversely, we may let others down. We may be left feeling hurt, betrayed, fearful, unsupported and alone.
During times like this, be reminded and comforted the Lord is your Shepherd. You will not be in want or lack! He is leading you, He is guiding you, He protects, provides, and refreshes you. Most of all, His love and goodness accompanies you wherever you go!
Psalms 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul...Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
