I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Have you ever plead with God for the needs of other? "Intercession is about putting ourselves in other’s shoes or having sympathy with others. But intercessions are about having the mind of God and see things through His perspective" - Oswald Chambers.
Intercession is one of the most difficult tasks for a Christian. Many of us including myself many times forget about the very essence of intercession. Sometimes we are too absorbed by the problem and we forget to fix our eyes on Jesus and then we become overwhelmed by the problems. Intercession is a duty as well as a privilege for Christian. Only by having deep relationship with God then we can know Him and His mind for the dying soul.
Jesus intercedes for us (Romans 8:34) and He calls us to intercede for others. He Himself has no limit, but He has chosen us to be the intercessors for this generation. Indeed we have part in His Salvation mission for the world. Will God say to us: “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord (Ezekiel 22:30).
