For the past two years I have experienced turmoil within my family. I’ve cried out to God, yelled at God and also submitted unto Him and received His peace and joy. The one verse that I used to keep my eyes on Christ is this:
2 Corinthians 12: 9 - 10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is make perfect in weakness,” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong
There were times when I said it through gritted teeth and in fits of joy but every time I said it I knew it was truth and it lifted my spirit.
As we step into this next half of the year let us go in with a confidence and boldness in the word of God.
Smith Wigglesworth puts it really well; he says “It is a blessed thing to learn that God’s word can never fail.” When the Bible was put together, it was put together with an intention to be used. Hundreds of years later, through bloodshed and persecution, we have it now to wield and practice it.
Make it a habit to turn to the word and find truth for you and declare it even with the smallest of faith. Learn for yourself that God's word never fails.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path”
Psalm 119:105
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”
Hebrews 4:12
