If you have not been to a Chinese New Year Banquet then you will be amazed at the bounteous food and varieties available.
Now, have you ever wondered what it would be like to attend a banquet in Heaven? Maybe, just maybe, the table might be two to three football fields long, piled with all types of meat dishes, seafood, pizza, bread, pasta, rice, noodles, cakes, pies and anything else you can think of. The angels tell you that you can have any food you like but instead you said “thank you, may I have just a glass of water?”
Jesus replied, “Please have all you would like. That’s why I invited you, you are hungry and here is everything you need to get full.” “Thank you Jesus,” you say. “Perhaps I’ll just have a slice of bread.” That’s how most of us act when it comes to nourishing our spiritual self.
The Bible states that in Christ we have all we need but we often find believers who are not satisfied or filled and they look for fulfillment elsewhere. Scriptures clearly declares that in Christ is all fullness and if you are in Christ, you have been given all access to the fullness of HIS glory and provision, you don’t need something extra plus to feel ‘full’.
As soon as you feel or think that you need other things to feel ‘full’, you need to ask yourself, “if I get this particular thing, will it undermine the position of Christ in my life?” The further away we are from Christ, the hungrier we will become but do not be fooled; this hunger will not be filled by worldly provision, it will only be filled by the fullness of God in your life.
So would you choose to believe that in Christ you will find all that you need or you will be the person who asks for water and slice of bread only? It is your decision but one thing for sure; you are invited to Heaven’s great banquet.
Phillipians 4:19 (NLT)
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
