“I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn’t work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.” Isn’t it a clever joke?
Unfortunately the joke rings true for some of us. We often try to get ahead of God just because we want to see an immediate result. Instead of trusting HIM to work in HIS own timing, we ‘went and stole a bike’ to make sure we get ‘a bike’.
God works in ways we don’t understand and if we choose to simply trust HIM to bring what is best for us in HIS own way and HIS own time, we will not lose out. God is more than pleased to bless us with a life overflowing with abundance and joy.
Don’t try to make things happen before its time. I have learned it the hard way that it will not give you any long term satisfaction. Furthermore you will find yourself striving without grace and if you keep it long enough, it will drain you.
Let God decide what is the best for us and we as believers, we ought to believe that God will eventually give us ‘a bike’ in HIS own timing and if HE doesn’t, who knows, HE might give us a car instead.
