I know that because today the want for scrumptious food or yummy treats is not in my agenda. I was content to just have a piece of toast and a cup of tea this morning. For lunch, I plan to get a salad wrap. I have had too much of good food that I have come to desire none today.
Now, let’s change this to a different context. If my spiritual self were to be fed with all the necessary soul food such as God’s words and regular prayer life, I’m convinced that the verse “I shall not be in want” (Psalm 23:1) will manifest in a manner that we are made fully whole and confident that nothing could beat the good that God has provided us and given us.
He is our shepherd and we lack in nothing. He withheld no good things from us (Psalm 84:11). Nothing of this world will be able to lure us to captivity if we are planted firmly in the knowing that Our Lord is indeed the giver and provider of all good things that will satisfy us eternally, even in this land of the living.
Psalm 23:1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
