Cain is an example of allowing these thoughts getting the better of him. In Genesis 4:6-7, God knew what Cain wanted to do to Able and He gave him a way out of committing the murder: “But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it” (Gen 4:7). Unfortunately, as we all know, it didn't end well.
What Cain didn't have was the Victory of the Cross! Knocking on the door of our minds we have the enemy ready to tell us lies that cause us to sin. We must master them. But how?
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:5.
I pray that your hearts and minds will be able to discern the enemy's web of lies and then bring it to Christ... Where ANYTHING that is of the devil cannot linger.
