For those of you who have either ridden on a bike during a wet day, or know of people who do, you could probably appreciate how challenging that was. Particularly a rain where, even with my husband's supposedly waterproof gear, he still got soaked to the bone!
At this point, a police car witnessed this and decided to shadow my husband all the way until he reached his destination, where the rain miraculously cleared. You see, I could shadow my husband with my little grey car. But with a police car behind him, his chances of "surviving" this rain increased. After all, everyone recognise the cop car and seem particularly alert when they are around. The police gave my husband a BIG gap too- and made sure that the gap is always there, even if this means they have to overtake another car to ensure that (which they did!).
If you reside in Perth, you know that this help in the rain with the police isn't that common an occurrence either. But whoever was in that police car helping us out, you've been our guardian angel on that very day.
This whole incident reminds me of our journey in life. We are the beloved children of God Almighty, but there are going to be storms in life that wouldn't stop pouring down on us. Difficult as it might be, challenging as it would seem, sometimes quitting and saying 'I can't do this' is just not an option! Because it will not resolve anything. We pray and scream, asking God to stop the storm, but the storm doesn't end. We then ponder about God's love for us and wonder whether that is all true.
My friends, I assure you that is is true. God is love. That is the truth. However, that doesn't mean that life will be a bed of roses. Good news is, through our storms, Jesus is always there for us holding our hand and being with us. He is always with us on that boat across that raging sea. With Him on board, we will not sink.
Psalm 91:4
"He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
