Do you know that most fish grow according to the size of their surroundings? Over many years, a fish in an aquarium may grow in centimeters, however, the same fish in the ocean may be able to grow in meters!
Sometimes, our perception of God can be a little similar. When we encounter areas of our lives where we feel limited, fearful, anxious and small may be the exact areas where our understanding of God is limited to an "aquarium".
But in reality, God is so much bigger and larger than an aquarium! He is as limitless as the great wide ocean. When we grasp the awesomeness of who God is, His incredible love, His overflowing generosity, His unending faithfulness, we begin to grow and live larger! No longer do we get bogged down by fears, worries and insecurities because we know that our God is greater than every situation. He is our peace in the storm, He is our grace in difficulties, He is infinitely and eternally wise beyond our temporary world!
Isaiah 40:25, 26
“To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
