There are times in my life where things have seemed overwhelming. I have looked for advice, empathy, tried to manipulate and find a solution or a way out.
I have realised the more I know Christ, the more I overcome. Christ was born and grew up in this world. He knows what it is to be human. He knows our deepest despairs, secrets and brokenness. He sees behind the facade, and knows.
But He couldn't bear to just sit and watch. So He took it all upon Himself so that we could be totally and fully free!
We have so often let the enemy's lies run amok around our lives: things are impossible, nobody will ever understand, there is no hope, it hurts, it is beyond repair...
But the truth is Christ has taken it all off us! He has taken our place. We are loved, we are healed, we are restored!
If Christ has done it for me, He has done it for you! It's up to us to believe and keep on receiving His overcoming power!
Isaiah 53:4 - 5
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
