Muller grew up with the values of worldly principles; he committed many fraudulent acts for his personal gain but all that ended when he encountered the realness of God’s love.
For more than sixty years, Muller led a life of persistent prayer and faith; resolving never to ask for any monetary support nor salary from his works. He sold all he had, gave it all to the poor and began housing orphans till the day he died.
The five orphanages he built cost a total of $575,000 with a yearly ongoing expenditure of over $100,000 for each orphanage. How he obtained the money for the orphanages were a testimony of God’s provision for someone who depended solely on God alone through persistent prayers and persevering faith.
“I have learned my faith by standing firm amid severe testings. The province of faith begins where probabilities cease and sight and sense fail. If I, a poor man, simply by prayer and faith, obtained without asking any individual the means for establishing and carrying on an Orphan-House then this would provide visible proof that God is FAITHFUL STILL and HEARS PRAYER STILL. When I‘m persuaded that a thing is right, I go on praying for it, the great point is never to give up until the answer comes” – George Muller.
Muller’s faith is exemplary and like the famous quote P.U.S.H, we should learn to persevere through persistent prayers till we receive our answers.
P.U.S.H. = Pray Until Something Happens!
When your job discourages you, P.U.S.H.
When your situation seems impossible, P.U.S.H.
When your finances are low and the bills are due, P.U.S.H.
When no one understands you, P.U.S.H.
James 5:16
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
