Eagles are well know to be one of the most powerful birds in the world. With wing spans of more than 2 meters, eagles are known to fly up to 15,000 feet! What amazes me is that eagles spend very little time flapping their wings to reach those heights. Instead, they catch a thermal or an air current which provides the uplift force enabling them to soar and glide to great heights.
We may approach the new year with excitement, anticipation, relief or perhaps even, hopelessness or weariness. We may wonder if the next year will be any different to the last. But the great news is that God invites us to wait and hope in Him! He never grows tired or weary! All we have to do is, like the eagle, just depend and trust in Him as He lifts us far above, and enlarges our view to see what's of eternal worth!
Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
