In contrast to this, King David, who had great favour from God, was perpetually praising and thanking God in Psalms. Although he might have been surrounded by enemies or feeling the guilty or fearful, he always came to God in thankfulness.
So why might thankfulness bring such difference to our lives? Thankfulness brings us to remember God's goodness, which leads us to belive and stand strong in faith that what God has done He can do again and in greater measure! And faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen!
Coming to the close of the year, we may think that we could have done better, or we haven't quite reached where we want to be, or maybe what we are believing or hoping for has not arrived. Like King David, let us remember how blessed we are and be thankful, God is not finished yet!
Psalm 95:1-3 O
Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
