I recently had a very good Friend (whom I have known beyond my baby memories), flew over to visit me. Although i had hardly seen her for the past 12 years, when we met it was as if our hearts were always together. There was nothing in our hearts that was withheld and the time we spent was so uplifting as we talked about hopes and dreams of the future.
In Jn 15:15, Jesus has called each one of us His friend because He has made everything known to us. Yet, many of us do not realize this. We sometimes go about the busyness of life, without a thought for our Friend or a catch up with Him.
I have found the times where I just give him my attention, our greatest Friend has so much to say to us, sometimes through rainbows or sunsets, music, promises, dreams and sustaining words of hope. As a Friend of God, our hearts grow closer and closer to the heart of God and he will reveal everything to us! And not only that, we can ask whatever our heart desires and He will give it to us!
The question is, do you know Jesus has called you Friend?
John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
John 16:23-24 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
