Some of them claim gardening is therapeutic, some claim gardening is a pure enjoyment as they are often inspired by the beauty they have created.
Me? I find the simplest thing such as weeding is quite a chore. I want the result but oh dear, do I have to do all that work regularly?
This expectation can also be evident in our spiritual lives. We may listen to encouraging testimonies from other people and then marvel at the work that God has done in their lives. We can listen to inspirational preaching but the moment we walked out from Church, we find it hard to make time and effort to follow through the things we need to change for our spiritual growth.
Testimonials, preaching and stories are meant to encourage, inspire and drive us into seeking the Lord and doing good works beneficial for our own spiritual growth.
When we move from ‘simply hearing’ to seeking the Lord regularly and doing good works ourselves, the seeds planted will surely harvest to a beautiful garden of spiritual fruits and you will be able to share your harvest to everyone around you.
James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
