Mathew 16 : 27
For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels....
Recently, wherever I turned, I always got the same message either about End Time or Second Coming of Jesus. Is Jesus coming back soon ? In John 14 : 3 Jesus says …… I will come back again ……
But when will Jesus come back? Nobody knows for….” The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night (2 Peter 3: 10A).Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect ( Matthew 24 : 44 )
The Word “you also must be ready” reminded me of Matthew 25 about the parable of the ten virgins who were waiting for the bridegroom to enter the wedding feast. The fully prepared five wise virgins who brought their lamps complete with enough oil, went in right away to the wedding feast when the bridegroom arrived, but the unprepared five foolish virgins who brought their lamps with insufficient oil were left outside, as the door of the banquet had been shut the moment they were ready.
To be ready, we too, must be fully prepared.
2 Peter 3 : 11B,12A says, *Since everything will be destroyed..., what kind of people ought you to be ? You ought to live holy and godly lives.
To lead holy and godly lives, we need to build an intimate relationship with the Lord through prayers and studying or meditating on His Word. We need to grow in grace and knowledge of God in order to understand how to live by His Word, for God says in Hosea 4 : 6, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge”.
And as we build an intimacy with the Lord, He will keep our lamps burning through the indwelling Holy Spirit, so that when He comes, we will be aware and will be able to go with Him without any delay like the five wise virgins. Hallelujah !
