Love, Joy, Peace, Giving, Generosity, Charity, Family, Unity… They are all words that I found associated with Christmas. And guess what?! They all point to one person: Jesus.
Jesus embodied all of these things. He embodied love and told us to love others as well. He embodied joy and gave it to us to share in it and give it to others. He is the Prince of Peace! He gave the greatest gift of all for our freedom; his life. He tells us to give and be generous. "But when you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you"(Matt 6:3-4). He has brought us into a family of believers and brings families together (even if it is just for a day). He brings unities to families, friends and foes… How? Why? Because Jesus is the reason for the season. The Spirit of Christmas was birthed because of the birth of our Saviour.
Things happen at Christmas time that don't usually happen. That's what makes this time of year so special. It is something that happens in the unseen places, that permeates throughout hearts and souls and then is expressed through our faces, our gestures and our actions. It is this Spirit of Christmas that takes hold of us. Do you recognise it? Do you take time to see it? Or are you too busy caught up in work or worry to see it?
DON'T MISS IT! As soon as you see it and start to recognise it you see it more and then you are able to help others see it! The joy that Jesus brings! The love that he has bought to us! It's so breathtaking! Get lost in the spirit and the magic of Christmas!

"She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins"
Matthew 1:21
