A few days ago, I woke up with a sudden realization that I am not getting any younger and I have to DO something, I have to invest, make money, make an impact on the world, etc, etc. It was definitely a panic attack!
I then came across an interesting verse where the Bible says that at the end of their lives, many people would claim that they had accomplished many great things and done many miracales for God. Yet, Jesus replied: "I never knew you; depart from me...".
The word "knew" which Jesus uses is translated as a close and intimate relationship, similar to the intimacy of marriage. Jesus's heart's desire is that we may be One with Him, just as God the Father was in Him! It is a oneness with God which is so much more priceless than anything we can do for Him!
Acts 17:27, 28
God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’
Matthew 7:21-23
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you...’
