The word “Victory” is defined as defeating an enemy or opponent, winning a war or struggle; or the state of having triumphed.
When Christ died on the cross, he died for each one of us. When He died, He became us in all our humanness. He became our sin, shame, limitations and defeat. Yet, that is not the end of the story! God raised Him up from the dead. Death couldn’t overcome Him; He was victorious! But that is not all… because Christ had become us in our humanness, so when He rose from the dead that means that we too rise!
Many of us still live in an illusion of being defeated by depression, hopelessness, fear and so on. We readily believe the lies of the enemy, who has come to steal, kill and destroy who we were created to be. Let’s believe and stand firm that we are already victorious because we are in Christ and nothing can defeat us!
Colossians 3:1-3
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
