I was putting the youngest to bed and it came to praying. I know he is a bit shy so I always encourage him and let him start: "Dear God... Your turn!" he would say hastily.
I would pass it back to him, "No, its still your turn... is there anything you want to thank God for?"
"Thank you God for books. Thank you God for no bugs in my bed, my brothers bed and in my room... And thank you for sending Jesus here to earth... Thank you that he died for us"
I encouraged him again and prayed for him and his family and for good dreams and protection.
"And in Jesus name we pray, Amen!"
I couldn't help reflect on how much his prayers have grown. The prayer may not seem like much but there was a time when he would just repeat after me. Now he was stringing together sentances to God without much prompting!
Sometimes we need a little encouragement to pray. Consider this yours. We are living in a world that is morally decaying in front of us. We have problems amd situatons that attempt to himder us. We have sickness and disease at every corner. We have family and friends that need us and rely on us.
What isn't there to pray about?
Enter Jesus. He is the beginning and the end. He is the King of kings. He is the author of salvatons. The enemy shudders at his name and sickness cannot be where he is. With a wrap sheet like this, why wouldnt you pray to him?! We pray in His name for a reason: He is the Name above all names! Everything we could ever want or need is found in Him.
"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
John 14:13-14
