Ever wondered what was Abraham doing when God first spoke to him? Was Abraham eating his breakfast? Was he talking with other shepherds about purchasing new lambs? Was he dealing business with Lot? Was it the weekend or just weekday life as usual?
There was no roar of thunder. Abraham was not surrounded by a mysterious mist or light. The Bible just says that God spoke.
Imagine God speaking to you suddenly; not just a casual word, not just a friendly greeting or some helpful advice but in a shocking directive way that shatters your routine. How would you respond? Would you be simply amazed because God spoke in such authority or that God just spoke to you?
God spoke to Abraham when everything is normal. He speaks to us in similar way too. When He speaks, he does it in an unexpected or unpredicted time but He is always there, everywhere and in everything you do. He willingly enters our daily lives. He relates to us as we wash our dishes, work in the office, gardening and other daily chores.
God may be speaking now, are you listening?
