Daniel 3: 16 - 18
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.
These men had faith that God could and would save them. But even if God chose not to save them in this particular way, they still knew that God is good and he works for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28). Their faith was not in the things of God, but in God Himself.
Even if God does not heal me this day, even if He does not bring me provision in finance nor employment or restoration of anything lost or even my other half in the new year, even if today my earthly body give way and I go to be with the Lord in paradise - my faith is in the knowledge that the Father is good - so, so good.
